Sawara・Historical District・New Years
更新日:2021年8月13日
At the Sawara Neighborhood Museum, organized by the Sawara Wife Association, shops throughout Sawara’s Historical District display their family treasures. The Sawara・Historical District・New Years event, which takes place around New Years, is one of their temporary exhibits.
During this time period, these shops display their unique New Years decorations. In addition, a lion dance and sawara-bayashi festival musical are performed, and the district, lined with historical buildings, is filled with New Years excitement.
While you are at it, make your first shrine visit of the year at Katori Jingū Shrine, learn about Inoh Tadataka’s great achievements at the Inoh Tadataka Museum, and view the Sawara Grand Festival’s floats (Registered UNESCO Cultural Heritage) at the Suigo Sawara Float Museum!
