Yoshibumi Shell Mound

Designated as a national historic site in 1930, Yoshibumi Shell Mound is one of the largest shell mounds from the Late Jōmon sub-period (1500 BC – 1000 BC) in the lower reaches of the Tone River. The earthenware incense burner with a face that was excavated here is a Designated Cultural Property of Chiba Prefecture.
