| Suisei Shokubutsuen (Sawara Municipal Aquatic
Botanical Garden) was opened in 1969 as a
sightseeing and recreation spot in the Suigo
Tsukuba Quasi-National Park. A wide assortment
of aquatic plants raised in the garden offer
stunning displays, particularly the various
species of iris and lotus. Ougishima 1837-1.

Otone Museum, a branch of the Chiba Prefectural
Museum, offers an excellent introduction
to the nature and the history of the Tone
River, the second longest river in Japan.
You can enjoy the great variety of exhibits
on creatures and Hfestyres in the damp areas
on the tower reaches of the river, such as
freshwater fishes, waterfowls, traditional
fishing gear, farming tools,and the ships

many bridges spanning narrow canals.
